- Science Fair Projects
- has

full instructions and explanations. You can search for ideas for your
projects by simply entering a keyword on whatever interests you.
- Girl Scouts of the San Francisco Bay Area - has a diverse
membership of more than 30,000 girls and nearly 15,000 volunteers.
Girl Scouting continues to help girls discover the fun, friendship and
power of girls together.
- Introduce a Girl to
Engineering Day - Girls represent more than half the
future workforce, but when it comes to engineering, few get enough
guidance and encouragement to consider a career in this critical
field. Aiming to challenge that stubborn reality, the National
Engineers Week Committee is redoubling efforts in 2002 to let girls of
all ages know that engineering not only wants them, it genuinely needs
them.
- Engineer Girl - The Engineer Girl
website is part of the NAE's Celebration of
Women in Engineering project. This project tries to bring national
attention to the opportunity that engineering represents to all people
at any age, but particularly to women and girls.
- Girlstart

learning environment that includes cooperative hands-on activities
utilizing various engineering principles can build self-esteem and

- The Girls in Technology (GIT) Program - an initiative
sponsored by the WIT Girls In Technology (GIT) Committee
. The program supports academic and community programs through
involvement provide guidance and role models to girls who have an
interest in technology or who have an interest that could be nurtured.
The Girls in Technology program, provides a speakers bureau, mentors
and this web site to support programs throughout the year.
- Girls Inc of Alameda County - an affiliate of the
national Girls Incorporated. They have provided programs and real-life
options to girls in our community for over 40 years. Our programs
include Science and Math Enrichment, Career Development, Teen
Leadership Development, and many other services to girls in the
community.
- Girls Get Set – Designing
and Building Real Science Exhibits - Each year, 15 middle
school girls work together to design and build museum exhibits for The
Discovery Museums. Educators and female engineering college students
work with the girls on creating innovative and fun exhibits.
- Expanding Your Horizons in Science and
Mathematics™ - has conferences
designed to nurture girls' interest in science and math courses and to
encourage them to consider science and math based career options such
as engineering, computer science, and biometrics.
- Girls Middle School in
San Francisco - Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, GMS is
an all-girls middle school dedicated to nurturing and empowering young
women. GMS features an innovative curriculum which combines academic
rigor with creativity, focuses attention on girls' emotional and
social needs, and embraces diversity with a multi-cultural student
body, staff and curriculum.

- Techbridge - a bridge between
middle school and high school. Girls have many important decisions to
make in middle school and high school, but don't always receive the
academic guidance they need. Techbridge
supports girls by teaching them technology skills and helping them
plan for the next steps to college and careers. Techbridge
programs introduce girls to various applications of technology and
also encourage them to consider careers in the field. Techbridge is hosted before and after school at
middle schools and high schools around Oakland, California.
- Rural and Urban Images: Voices of Girls in
Science, Mathematics & Technology - Voices is a three-year
project to help girls do well and feel confident in science, math, and
technology.
