Most regions have only two. The officer positions, along with a brief description of the roles, are listed below: Region C Collegiate Representative Represents Region C at National Meetings Helps facilitate regional meetings Files reports to the Board of Directors Newsletter Editor Prepares a minimum of two newsletters per school year. Aids in the communication of upcoming events. Activities Chair Coordinates activities among collegiate sections across Region C. Helps host section with upcoming region conference. Communications Chair Maintains region website. Works with Newsletter Editor to publish newsletter and upcoming events on website. We will take nominations for the Activities Chair and the Communications Chair at the Collegiate Regional Meeting. Everyone nominated will have a chance to speak at the meeting and voting will take place afterwards. The new officers will be announced at the closing banquet. Maintaining a Charter in Good Standing The collegiate section must have at least 10 paid SWE members. At least 50% of the sections paid membership must be women majoring in engineering or engineering technology. The collegiate section must operate under the guidance of a SWE Counselor. A SWE Counselor must be a paid SWE professional member. Annual & financial reports must be submitted on time. The collegiate section may have only one president at a time. Report Deadlines Annual Report Each collegiate section must complete and return 1 copy of the annual report to their Region Collegiate Coordinator ( HYPERLINK "mailto:rsc-c@swe.org" rsc-c@swe.org) and 1 copy to SWE Headquarters ( HYPERLINK "mailto:hq@swe.org" hq@swe.org), postmarked by June 30th each year. Online, e-mail in April Financial Report Each collegiate section must complete and send 1 copy of the financial report to their Region Collegiate Coordinator ( HYPERLINK "mailto:rsc-c@swe.org" rsc-c@swe.org) and 1 copy to SWE Headquarters ( HYPERLINK "mailto:hq@swe.org" hq@swe.org), postmarked by June 30th each year. Attach any additional section or member success oriented items (i.e. calendar events, programs, pamphlets, news articles, etc.) that you would like to share with the Region or Board of Directors. Any SWE Collegiate member in good standing, i.e. whose dues are paid and is an undergraduate majoring in engineering or a related or allied field, is eligible. Previous regional winners of the Technical Presentation Competition are not eligible. The national winners will receive a cash award. Amounts may vary on a yearly basis. National winners typically receive cash awards of $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $750 for third place. Boeing Team Tech Competition Held at the National Conference Each team will consist of 4-12 collegiate members. Over 50% of team members must be active SWE members. Team must represent a minimum of three different engineering disciplines. The team must consist of undergraduate collegiate members with a maximum of one graduate collegiate members. Start organizing teams in October/November A very structured schedule must be followed. Report templates are provided in Appendix K of the Collegiate Section Manual.
