Region C Award Program
Nomination Instructions
Important Dates (Professional and Collegiate):
The nomination deadline is December 18, 2009. Awards will be presented at the Region C Conference.
SWE Requirements (Professional and Collegiate):
- The nominee must be a SWE member in good standing and consistently active in SWE.
- The nominator must be a SWE member in good standing or a SWE Corporate member.
Submission Requirements (Professional and Collegiate):
Nomination Packages must include the following information:
Distinguished Service Award
Emerging Leader Award
- Completed Nomination Form (including nominator information)
- Formal Statement (Biography)
- (maximum 200 words) - Focus on activities which fulfill the award criteria.
- Professional Resume
- SWE Resume (max 5 pages)
- One SWE Professional Letter of Recommendation (Professional & Collegiate)
- One Technical Letter of REcommendation (Professional Only)
- One Educational Leader Letter of Recommendation (Collegiate Only)
Sustaining Benefactor Award
- Nomination Form (including nominator information)
- Name of Organization or Company
- Contact Information - Name, Phone Number, Address, E-mail
- Brief description of Orgnaization or Company (maximum 250 words)
- Citation (maximum 250 words)
An incomplete Nomination Form will remove a candidate from consideration. The Formal Statement and SWE Resume* both have specific length limitations. This allows those who have Professional Resumes to use their current format. This also gives those who do not have Professional Resumes an opportunity to create it, as they desire. The SWE Resume* will confirm SWE experience, as required with those particular awards.
*Note: It is assumed that the Professional Resume may contain information about the candidate’s involvement in professional and technical organizations, including SWE. The purpose of having a resume for SWE exclusively is to allow SWE members to emphasize and expand on their applicable SWE experiences.
