Partnering with SWE-CRS

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national non-profit education service organization of professional and student engineers. Our mission is to stimulate women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, to expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and to demonstrate the value of diversity. We invite and encourage your organization to share in this mission by partnering with the Chicago Regional Section (CRS).

SWE-CRS is the second largest professional SWE section in the country, with over 300 members. We organize a wide variety of family-friendly engineering-related and networking programs; provide role models, outreach, and career guidance for local elementary and high school students; offer continuing development workshops to our members and the general public; and award scholarships to area high school senior women. In addition, we support and mentor SWE chapters at local universities including Northwestern University, Notre Dame, University of Illinois at Chicago, Valparaiso University, Northern Illinois University, Purdue University Calumet, and the Illinois Institute of Technology. Through participation in SWE-CRS activities, members broaden their perspectives and help sustain a strong science and technology workforce in the Chicago regional area.

Partnering with SWE-CRS provides you with opportunities to:

  • Contribute to sustaining a vibrant, talented engineering workforce in our region
  • Foster the professional development of engineers in your organization
  • Meet and network with highly qualified engineering professionals in our region
  • Reach engineering students from Northwestern University, Notre Dame, University of Illinois at Chicago, Valparaiso, Northern Illinois University, Purdue University Calumet and the Illinois Institute of Technology
  • Receive recognition on our website and membership communications
