Nominating Committee
SWE Nominating Committee coordinates the elections and appointments for the Executive Board each Spring. Please look at the descriptions of positions available and consider volunteering to serve.
There are four elected positions in the section:
- President/President Elect – provide leadership for the section
- Secretary – keep a record of the planning meetings
- Treasurer – keep track of the section’s money
- Section Representative – the section’s voice on a national level
Additionaly each year, the section's elected officials will appoint the following positions:
- Professional Development Committee Chair – coordinate professional development meetings
- Career Guidance Committee Chair – coordinate activities with students in grades K-12 to promote engineering
- Membership Committee Chair – expand and nurture section’s membership
- Fund Development Committee Chair – coordinate fundraisers for the scholarship endowment fund and for general operating funds
- Communication Committee Committee Chair – facilitate communication within the section and maintain the membership email address database
- Web Master – maintain and update the section’s web page
- Scholarship Committee Chair – coordinate the awarding & distributing of the section’s scholarship fund
- Nominations Committee Chair – create ballot and coordinate section elections (*cannot run for an elected office while holding this position)
- Bradley Counselor – assist the SWE Student Section at Bradley University
- U of I Counselor – assist the SWE Student Section at the U of I
