Section Committees
- SWE Outreach Committee provides outreach programs to K-12 grades, focusing on Engineering, Math, and Science activities. Events include E-WEEK experiments at Lakeview museum, ZOOM science experiments with local schools, and Girls Scout Badge Days. We are always looking for volunteers.
- The purpose of the Work-Life Balance Committee is to
1. To create social networking events for our members.
2. To involve members who do not usually attend Professional Development meetings.
3. To try and retain SWE membership for those members who were starting a family by offering family-friendly events.
- The goal of the communication committee is to provide timely and accurate information to memebers and friends regarding SWE-Central Illinois activities and events via two avenues: the website and email.
- The membership committee is focused on attracting and retaining members of Central Illinois SWE.
- SWE Nominating Committee coordinates the elections and appointments for the Executive Board each Spring.
Professional Development Committee
- The Central Illinois Professional Development Committee strives to provide formal and informal networking opportunities for SWE members. Our goals reflect a concerted effort to help our colleagues learn and grow, both in their careers and in their personal lives.
- The scholarship committee administers the SWE Central Illinois Section scholarship. This work includes communicating that the scholarship is available, compiling applicants information, selecting the scholarship recipients, and awarding the scholarships.
