Fred Tayyari (Professor of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering & Technology, Bradley University) is the featured speaker as we explore 'Applications of Engineering Economy in Justifying Engineering Projects and Personal Financef'. In this seminar we will learn how to use engineering tools for economics analysis of professional engineering projects as well as for personal needs such as purchasing the next home, a car, or planning for funding our children?s education. Join the Society of Women Engineers Central Illinois Section, as we tour State Farm?s Crash Investigation Site in Bloomington, IL. This will include a tour of the crash investigation laboratories and interaction with State Farm?s managers and engineers. A networking luncheon in the Bloomington area will follow the tour, participates will pay the restaurant directly. We are expecting this tour to be very popular. To make sure we serve the needs of our membership, registration will be conducted in two waves. All SWE members (Professional and Collegiate) can register now. Registration will open for guests on April 1, 2009 at 8:00 am. The tour will be filled on a first come, first serve basis and capacity is limited to 40 people. Please join us for the SWE-CI Annual Summer Picnic on Saturday June 6 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. The picnic will be held rain or shine at the Dogwood Shelter at Detweiller Park in Peoria, IL (see attached directions). We will have several lawn games and there is a playground close by. SWE will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta/potato salad, chips, dessert and bottled water. This event is open to all SWE members and their families. Please see communities for RSVP information.
