Stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, demonstrate the value of diversity.
Mission, Vision, & Goals for 2008
FY08 VISION
To encourage professional and personal development for our members, improve section vitality and further the outreach and visibility of SWE
FY08 GOALS
- Make SWE NEOH more visible locally, regionally, and nationally
- Publish a quarterly newsletter
- Update the SWE NEOH website monthly
- Increase section vitality and member participation by hosting localized SWE member gatherings
- Develop section branding by adopting a section logo and letterhead and using in all correspondence
- Inform all local engineer and technical employers of the importance of SWE and the need to support their female employees.
- Send at least 5 members to the regional conference
- Encourage participation at the national conference
- Increase the number of outreach activities:
- Visit all 5 NEOH Universities
- Participate in the “Picture Yourself as an Engineer” event sponsored by Goodyear
- Participate in Engineer’s Week
- Identify and participate in one other outreach event
- Increase new SWE membership by 10%
- Increase membership by 6 thru collegiate member to professional member upgrades upon graduation
- Maintain total membership against the baseline on 6/30/07
- Investigate reasons for member drop-outs and develop mitigating actions for controllable reasons.
- Implement succession planning
- Identify active members through event attendance and correspondence
- Identify candidates for FY09 executive positions by March 30, 2008
- Recruit 3 members who are new to the leadership team and appointed positions for FY09.
- Hold FY09 elections by May 31, 2008.
