Q.Where do I find an application to SWE?

Q.How much are membership dues?
A. The fee structure varies depending upon membership type and employment status. See http://societyofwomenengineers.swe.org/ for more information.
Q. What if I join mid-year, do I still pay for the full year membership price?
A. Reduced rates are available for part-year memberships between the months of January through April. Please see the application for further details at http://societyofwomenengineers.swe.org/
Q. I was a SWE Professional member, but now I am unemployed, do I still pay for the full year membership price?
A. Reduced rates are available for Professionals who are between jobs. Please see the application for further details at http://societyofwomenengineers.swe.org/ and click on the Membership link and then open the Membership App file.
Q. Where will NEOH SWE events be held?
A.Most events will be held within or near the location of the NEOH membership base. Events may be held in private and public places depending on the type of event.
Q. What are the duties of the NEOH SWE officers?
A. The duties of the current officers of the NE OH SWE include:
- Direct membership and officers with regard to SWE objectives and vision, focus people, liaison to other societies, maintain open flow of information to officers, member base, and SWE region, renew and maintain section webpage.
- Maintain section finances and accounts.
- Programs: Organize section activities, brainstorm new/other activities, interface with those needed to run each event, aid in getting external funding for events.
- VP Outreach: Work with other professional societies, schools and the member base to support the corporate initiative of teaching children about SWE, science, technology, and engineering; interface with member base on these activities.
- Section CORE Rep: Voice of the section to SWE CORE, drafts quarterly reports and white papers about issues.
- Section CORE Rep Alternate: Same as Section CORE Rep; assists Section CORE Rep.
- VP Membership: Maintain and aid in the development and implementation of initiatives to encourage membership and membership retention.
Q.I want to be an active member of SWE. How can I help?
A. There are many opportunities to participate in the NE OH SWE activities. These include planning and participating in events, mentoring others, giving presentations of technical papers of current projects to NE OH SWE peers, outreach activities, attending and participating in conferences and reporting back to the NE OH Section. Please contact one of the officers for further information.
Q. Does the Professional section interact with the area Collegiate/Student sections?
A. Yes, our Professional section (G003) interacts with the Collegiate sections in our area. The Collegiate sections in our area include Case Western Reserve University (G052), Cleveland State (G055), University of Toledo (G065), Youngstown State University (G068), University of Akron (G076). We also have Professionals only events. Each type of event is tailored to the interests of the group attending.
