Join us for a tour of this state-of-the-art pharmaceutical
manufacturing facility located at the heart of Abbott’s headquarters. The
250,000 square foot facility packages most of the company’s pharmaceuticals
sold in the United States, including Biaxin, Humira, Prevacid and many more.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the process of transforming bulk
drug into granules, tablets and capsules. The first half of the tour will take
you through the manufacturing side of the plant, where you will see the
equipment used for granulation, milling, coating, drying, compression and
encapsulation. The second half of the tour will take you through the packaging
area, where you will see equipment used to package the final formulation of
these pharmaceuticals into bottles or blisters and cartons.

capabilities at the Rockwell Automation's Milwaukee-based TechLabs. Also see
the High Current Testing facility that can test to 300,000 amps AC sym. RMS at
600 volts or less, the highest current levels required by any industrial
standards, shock and vibration testing for product robustness, Also included is
TechLabs’ in-house Electromagnetic Compatibility test facility used to ensure
product compliance and compatibility with product environment, a broad range of
Chemistry and Materials Engineering equipment. The tour ends with a panoramic
view from the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower, the tallest four-faced clock tower in
the world.

We Energies’ Pleasant Prairie Power Plant (P4) is installing
an Air Quality Control System with Washington Group International providing
Engineering/Construction expertise. This $25 million project includes a new
stack to handle flue gas from two 600 MW units, Selective Catalytic Reduction
(a NOx reduction technology) on one unit and sulfur dioxide scrubbers on both
units. NOx and SOx emissions at P4 are expected to be reduced by 90% and 95%
respectively. This project is a great example of the challenges or retrofitting
environmental controls on an existing power plant.

This tour will provide a look into how Rockwell Automation
Allen-Bradley products are used to provide factory automation with examples of
actual product use in our Rockwell Automation’s headquarters building. Included
will also be an overview of the Chiller Facility, which demonstrates how RA
hardware and software are controlling the chiller plant to save energy.
Additionally, you will see the automated assembly and testing of Smart Motor
Protector (SMP) and Modular Component System (MCS) overload relays. Finally,
participants will get to view a panoramic view of Milwaukee from the Allen
Bradley tower, the tallest four-faced clock tower in the world.
